The NSW Department of Education is making available seed grants to schools.
Seed grants are assisting schools to engage with their local community and their local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG). Schools are using grant funding to establish a Burraga Foundation MGoals community site and to assist with the implementation of the MGoals online goal setting tool for their students.
The MGoals initiative is a free program that supports Aboriginal culture and education by providing local Aboriginal communities and schools with an online website building project and an online learning environment where students create their goals for living and learning.
More and more schools are collaborating with their local Aboriginal community around the stories they would like to share in support of Aboriginal education and culture.
The distribution of the seed funding by the NSW Department of Education provides further impetus for schools to engage with the MGoals initiative. The acknowledgement of the MGoals initiative through the provision of funding to schools bolsters the efforts of the Burraga Foundation, the NSW AECG, the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, and Momentum Cloud.
